Understanding this collection
The Triassic precedes the Jurassic and Cretaceous. Early dinosaurs such as Coelophysis, Plateosaurus and Herrerasaurus document different branches of the emerging dinosaur groups. This collection groups broad period assignments; its animals did not necessarily share a place or a precise age.
