SOURCES AND EDITORIAL STANDARDS

Follow the evidence

A useful introduction shows what is known, where a claim comes from and what remains uncertain.

ARTISTIC RECONSTRUCTION

Source selection

We prioritize original research, museum explanations and specialist databases when accessible. Wikipedia overviews serve as introductory summaries and paths to further references. The Paleobiology Database provides taxonomic, occurrence and bibliographic records; it does not independently prove every statement in a reconstruction.

Research references are linked alongside each field note. A bibliographic record confirms a publication’s identity and connection in the catalogue. It is not a claim that every paper has been read in full or that an external specialist has peer-reviewed the page.

Facts, estimates and missing information

We distinguish a genus, a species and an individual fossil. A measurement for one specimen does not define every adult or growth stage. Body mass, speed, soft tissues and behavior often depend on models and comparisons.

Uncorroborated numerical fields remain blank. A well-supported interpretation may be discussed in prose even where a simple database field would be too categorical. If sources conflict, we explain the conflict or omit an exact value.

Interpreting database records

Sampled occurrences are discovery records, not a complete geographic range. Modern countries and continents identify where fossils were found, while ancient geography requires separate evidence. Broad fossil-age intervals are not automatically the precise lifespan of a genus.

Ecological annotations can be inherited from a parent group. They are not independent confirmation of a genus-specific feeding claim. We do not count two summaries of the same study as two independent lines of evidence.

Names and changing classifications

The A–Z research index includes historical, disputed and reassigned names. Inclusion is not a declaration that every name is currently valid. Genus boundaries can change as material is reexamined; field notes identify important disputes and preserve familiar names as research entry points.

Game information and review basis

Game accounts summarize the official Google Play listing and retained store snapshot. Screenshots and trailers are official promotional sources. We identify the snapshot date and distinguish it from an app release date and a website edit date.

We do not claim first-hand testing where none was performed. Advertised systems, realism, learning outcomes and superlative claims are developer statements. Store availability, price, rating and compatibility can change or vary by region.

Images and artistic interpretation

Promotional game artwork, concept art and shared group diagrams are labeled. They may depict fictional abilities, mixed geological periods or speculative appearance. A silhouette or game model is not direct fossil evidence or a precise species restoration.

Updates and responsibility

Jurassic Dinos editorial is the site’s publishing attribution. Source-based editorial review is not independent scientific peer review. Dates indicate actual content or source work, not a promise that every scientific publication has been checked up to that day.

Requesting a correction

Send the page URL, the statement and a reliable supporting source through support. A disputed interpretation may need explanation rather than deletion. Privacy-sensitive game support should go to the relevant developer, without passwords or payment details.
